Clonidine (Clomid®) is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). This medication helps block the effects of oestrogen on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, which can make clomiphene a powerful treatment for many types of infertility problems. Clonidine is considered a safe and effective treatment for infertility, as no totaled Federal Drug Administration (FDA) sponsored controlled clinical trials have ever conclusively prove that it is highly effective for fertility. It works by helping to restore the balance of oestrogen in the body and help induce ovulation in certain cases of ovulatory dysfunction. It’s commonly prescribed to women with hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis (HPTO) or menopause with anovulation. HPTO is a condition where the ovaries haven’t properly developed the hormone testosterone they produce. When their testosterone production is low, they can’t produce or release oestrogen. Clonidine helps restore the balance of oestrogen in the body and induce ovulation in some cases. It’s commonly used as a treatment for infertility. I recently took Clomid and I’ve been really struggling with my ovulation. I’m not ovulating at all, I’m just not sure why, my chances of getting pregnant are quite slim. I’ve read that this means I’m going to need a lot of help and if I can ovulate for a few cycles, then I’m good. I’m also not getting enough periods for the next cycle, so that’s a huge plus. I’ve been on this for three months and it hasn’t worked out as well as I would like. I’ve heard that this will help but it isn’t helping. I just don’t know how else to go about this. My doctor recommended Clomid but it didn’t work for me. I’m not a doctor so I wouldn’t recommend it, just to see if it could be helpful for my cycle.
I’ve been taking this for a week now and have been having some side effects. I’ve read that it can increase the risk of certain heart issues, but not all of them. I have also been on the 50mg/day dosage for a couple of months but haven’t had much luck. I’ve also been on Clomid and it’s helped a lot.
I’ve had a very low success rate at getting pregnant, but I have to say that when I was trying to get pregnant, I was a little bit shocked. It didn’t work and I was not getting enough periods. I was told that my cycle went by as soon as three days but I was told that the chances of getting pregnant are very slim, so I don’t know if I’ll have a period on my next cycle, but I’m hoping that is true.
I’m not sure if it’s just the Clomid or if I’m just not getting the results I hoped. It could be that Clomid is helping and the side effects are just that.
Any thoughts?
August 20, 2021, 4:20pm1Hi I think it could be Clomid helping, I would need to take the 50mg/day dose, I think it could be a combination of the two. I do think I would need to start Clomid as soon as I have any bleeding, I have had no luck. I would start Clomid at the lower dose and it would take some time to work its out of the system. I would also need to be on the 50mg/day dose for five days and that’s where my chances go.
I have been on Clomid for 10 weeks, and my chances are that I will be able to ovulate after I’m able to ovulate. I’m trying to get pregnant, but it hasn’t helped. My doctor recommended Clomid but I don’t know if it’s working well or if it could be an issue.
August 20, 2021, 4:24pm2Hi. My doctor told me to take the 50mg/day dose for five days. The chances of getting pregnant are very slim and I think they are getting a bit low. I’m not a doctor so I wouldn’t recommend it, just to see if it helps my cycle.
August 20, 2021, 4:57pm3My fertility has been going well for the past 2 years. I have been taking it for 10 weeks. I was told that Clomid is not helping and I’m not getting the results I was hoping for. I have had no success at all. I was told that I would be very low in blood counts but I have to say I haven’t had anything but no side effects at all. I’m hoping that the medication will work and that I can get pregnant. I’m also on the 50mg/day dose. I hope to get pregnant in the next 2 weeks. Thank you.
